The Absolute Greatness of the God I Serve

I Chronicles 29:11  Thine, O LORD, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O LORD, and thou art exalted as head above all.

I am here to declare to you that the God that I serve is a great God and worthy of all my praise, honor, service, and surrender! He rules over both heaven and earth and will give me the victory!

Revelation 4:10-11 – The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying, 11  Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.

Revelation 5:12  Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.

Revelation 7:9-12 – After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands; 10  And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb. 11  And all the angels stood round about the throne, and about the elders and the four beasts, and fell before the throne on their faces, and worshipped God, 12  Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen.

PRAISE

There is no god like our God.

Any other god is only an idol – money, fame, popularity, people, etc. We are to give Him praise (too often we give men praise for what God has  done.

Psalms 29:4 The voice of the LORD is powerful; the voice of the LORD is full of majesty.

Psalms 96:4-9 – For the LORD is great, and greatly to be praised: he is to be feared above all gods.5  For all the gods of the nations are idols: but the LORD made the heavens.6  Honour and majesty are before him: strength and beauty are in his sanctuary.7  Give unto the LORD, O ye kindreds of the people, give unto the LORD glory and strength.8  Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name: bring an offering, and come into his courts.9  O worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness: fear before him, all the earth.

Psalms 145:3  Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; and his greatness is unsearchable.

My God made the heavens, and earth and plants and oceans, and mankind, what has your god done?

 HONOR

Jerimiah 10:11-12 -11  Thus shall ye say unto them, The gods that have not made the heavens and the earth, even they shall perish from the earth, and from under these heavens.12  He hath made the earth by his power, he hath established the world by his wisdom, and hath stretched out the heavens by his discretion.

Jeremiah 27:5  I have made the earth, the man and the beast that are upon the ground, by my great power and by my outstretched arm, and have given it unto whom it seemed meet unto me.

SERVICE

Psalms 100:2 Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing.

Philippians 2:3-8 Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.4  Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.5  Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:6  Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:7  But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:8  And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

Jesus set the example.

I represent Jesus to the world.

Real servanthood is:

  • Humility
  • Obedience
  • Action

VICTORY

Jude 1:24-25 Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.
